As you may know, Orient Land Trust (OLT) has been created to preserve and protect Valley View Hot Springs, the Orient Mine, the Everson Ranch and the surrounding area. OLT will ensure that this special part of Colorado will always be a beautiful, peaceful refuge for you, your children and generations to come. We are relying on a broad base of individual contributors to sustain the organization and provide funds to further our mission and goals. We sincerely hope that you will become one of those individuals who support us with annual contributions. Your support, through an annual contribution, is essential to OLT’s survival. Without contributions from individuals like you, OLT would be unable to continue to develop and implement the programs which fulfill its mission. In addition to contributions from individuals, OLT has received support from foundations, government agencies and businesses.
Credit Card To use a credit card, go directly to the secure online donation page. You may choose to have your donation recur monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually.
Mail in a Donation To send a check or money order please use the Contribution Form.
Employer Matching Donation An increasing number of companies will match the donation of their employees to nonprofits organizations. Many companies will match the gifts of their employees 100%, while others give less and some give more. Contact your company Human Resources or Personnel Department to see if your company participates and if so, pick up a matching gift form and send it to OLT with your donation.
Donate in Memory of a Loved One Make a gift to OLT in memory of a loved one. You can send us a personal note which we will send along to their family with a notification of your gift.
Leave a Legacy Through Planned Giving Consider supporting OLT in your estate plan. Including OLT in your will, trust or life income gifts can sustain our mission for future generations as well as provide you with a variety of estate, income and tax benefits. Make a Matching Gift to Challenge Others Pledge a matching donation to encourage others to contribute within a specific period of time. For example, you could agree to make a matching gift of $5,000, if OLT raised $5,000 before a certain date.
Give a Gift to a Special Person Do you know a special person who is impossible to buy gifts for? Why not make a donation to OLT as a gift to honor this person? Send us a personal note and we will send it to them along with notification of your gift. This is a way to give a unique and thoughtful gift while protecting a special part of Colorado.
Donate a Vehicle You can donate your used vehicle on behalf of OLT and possibly receive an income tax deduction. Allowable deductions changed starting in 2005. Please consult a tax advisor. Call 1.866.628.2277 to donate your vehicle from anywhere in the United States. It’s easy! Driving your vehicle in for processing versus having it towed, means more proceeds for OLT.
Save Your Aluminum Beverage Cans OLT recycles aluminum in Alamosa through a program that puts developmentally disabled adults to work. Our most recent load paid $0.36 per pound. If you recycle aluminum, collect your cans and bring them down with you on your next trip. We will happily take them off your hands for you.
Donate Goods or Services We are looking for donations of goods and/or services for OLT fundraisers. Do you have a product or service which might make a good silent auction item? Maybe you have been given a gift which has been hiding in the closet for years and doesn’t suit you. Why not donate it? Donations of goods or services made to OLT are tax-deductible at their fair market value.
Volunteer Your Time Volunteers are extremely important to OLT. We have developed a working list of short-term and larger-scale projects which rely on the assistance of volunteers. Whether you have a few hours during your next visit or a full day for a special event, please consider a donation of your time to help us work more efficiently toward the protection of the northern San Luis Valley’s unique resources and open space. See Volunteering for a current list of volunteer opportunities. Consistent with the IRS tax code, volunteers may receive
economic benefits equivalent to those provided to the general public in
exchange for a membership fee or contribution of $75.00 or less. Volunteers
who work a minimum of 15 hours per year will receive OLT Supporter level
benefits (value $75.00-149.00). A Supporter level cash donor can also be a volunteer
(working a minimum of 15 hours per year) and receive benefits at the Patron
level. OLT relies on the help of volunteers throughout the year to ensure the
success of our activities. New volunteers are always needed and welcome. Please
