Why does Orient Land Trust limit admission to the property on the weekends?
The most popular area of the property has always been the the hot springs. The quality of the ponds, campsites, trails and parking areas as well as the ambiance decreases when it becomes over-crowded. Since the early 1970's weekend and holiday admission have been limited. Before Orient Land Trust, the weekends were restricted to a limited number of annual members and their guests. The Orient Land Trust limits weekend and holiday use with a quota to ensure that the facilities and environment are not over-used. This quota can be adjusted to preserve the lands of Orient Land Trust so generations will continue to enjoy the unspoiled environment. See Weekend Admission Policy for exact details.
