Suggested Routes to Orient Land Trust / Valley View Hot Springs

There are alternate routes but these are generally the shortest distances and/or quickest ways to get here.

From Denver:
1 - From I-25, Hwy 85, or C-470, take Hwy 285 south (towards Fairplay). Stay on 285 south (with a left turn at Johnson Village) all the way over Poncha Pass to County Road GG (about 4 miles south of Villa Grove).    Or...
2 - Take I-70 west through the Eisenhower Tunnel, then south on Hwy 91 (at Copper Mountain) to Leadville, then south on Hwy 24 towards Buena Vista, stay straight when 24 turns into 285 at Johnson Village, stay south on 285 over Poncha Pass to County Road GG (about 4 miles south of Villa Grove).    Or...
3 - Take I-25 south to Colorado Springs, then Hwy 115 south towards Canon City, then Hwy 50 west through Salida, turn left onto Hwy 285 south at Poncha Springs, stay on 285 over Poncha Pass to County Road GG (about 4 miles south of Villa Grove).

From Boulder:
1 - Take Hwy 93 south to Golden, get on C-470 for approx 7 miles, then take Hwy 285 south (towards Fairplay). Stay on 285 south (with a left turn at Johnson Village) all the way over Poncha Pass to County Road GG (about 4 miles south of Villa Grove).    Or...

From Colorado Springs:
1 - Take Hwy 115 south towards Canon City, then Hwy 50 west through Salida, turn left onto Hwy 285 south at Poncha Springs, stay on 285 over Poncha Pass to County Road GG (about 4 miles south of Villa Grove).     Or...
2 - Take Hwy 24 west through Woodland Park and South Park, then left on Hwy 285 at Johnson Village (just south of Buena Vista), stay south on 285 over Poncha Pass to County Road GG (about 4 miles south of Villa Grove).

From Pueblo / Canon City: Take Hwy 50 west through Salida, turn left onto Hwy 285 south at Poncha Springs, stay on 285 over Poncha Pass to County Road GG (about 4 miles south of Villa Grove).

From Crested Butte / Gunnison: Take Hwy 50 east about 7 miles east of Gunnison, then right on Hwy 114 east over Cochetopa Pass to the town of Saguache, then left on Hwy 285 about 14 miles to County Road GG.

From Durango / Pagosa Springs: Take Hwy 160 east over Wolf Creek Pass to Del Norte, then left on Hwy 112 east towards Center, then left on Hwy 285 north to the town of Saguache, then another 14 miles on 285 to County Road GG.

From Taos, NM: Take Hwy 64 west to Tres Piedras, then right on Hwy 285 north to Alamosa, CO, then take Hwy 17 about 50 miles north to County Road GG.

From Santa Fe, NM: Take Hwy 84/285 north to Espanola, turn left to stay on 84/285 north towards Abiquiu, then right on Hwy 285 north to Alamosa, CO, then take Hwy 17 about 50 miles north to County Road GG.

Intersection of US 285 and Colorado 17
The intersection of US Highway 285, Colorado Highway 17 and County Road GG has changed from a few years ago.

From the north, heading southbound on Hwy 285 (Salida, Denver, Colorado Springs): Watch for signs that say "Hwy 17 - Alamosa - Great Sand Dunes". Turn left there and immediately stay to the left which will put you on County Road GG.  (Do not take the right fork onto Hwy 17).

From the south, heading northbound on Hwy 285 (town of Saguache): Watch for signs that say "Hwy 17 - Alamosa". Turn right there and immediately stay to the left which will put you on County Road GG.  (Do not take the right fork onto Hwy 17).

From the south, heading northbound on Hwy 17 (Alamosa, Great Sand Dunes, Crestone): As you approach the intersection with Hwy 285, look for signs for County Road GG, which is about one mile after the sign for Joyful Journey Hot Springs. Turn right onto GG. County Rd GG is approximately 50 miles north of Alamosa.
