Important Attributes of the Property

The 1170 acre area consists of 690 acres private land and 480 acres leased from the Colorado State Land Board. See the Land Status Map. The green shaded Everson Ranch (formerly Cottonwood Ranch) area actually extends 2 miles to the west of the Hydroelectric Plant.  The hot spring water exits the Hydroelectric Plant and irrigates the ranch.

Notice the three historic areas. The two near the Orient Mine were towns served by the Denver and  Rio Grande narrow gage railroad until the 1930s. Now only foundations remain.

An excavation crossing the geological fault exposes the last two movements of the fault over the last 15,000 - 25,000 years.

After being used for soaking, swimming, irrigating and heating, the hot springs water is collected in a pipe. The pipe flows to the lowest point on the property at the Hydroelectric Plant where all of our electrical power is generated.

The bat cave is represented by a brown oval contour line between 9400' and 9600'. Over 100 years ago a mine cave-in formed this hole which is about the size of a football field and 400' deep.
