What to Bring

See What's New for current conditions and bans.

Our location at 8,700 feet above sea level means the nights are always cool and the sunshine can be very strong. Always bring warm clothing, sun protection, rain gear, towels, flashlights and food. There is very little outdoor lighting.

Accommodations are very rustic and require a walk to a restroom. A comfortable robe and hiking shoes are recommended for a walk to the hot springs from your cabin or campsite. Snow boots might be needed in winter.

Firewood is provided free for campfires. Please note that there are fire bans from time to time so bring a propane stove if you want to cook out during a fire ban. If you plan to use the shared Oak House kitchen for cooking, you will have to be patient during busy times.

Be prepared to camp unless you have accommodation reservations. Pets require a $50 deposit. The nearest store, fuel, restaurants and other lodging are located in Villa Grove, which is 12 miles away.

Lost & Found

If you find anything, please turn it in at the Welcome Center.  Those who lost it always appreciate the return of their things.  If you lost something, please let us know as soon as possible.  We do get many items turned in and reunited with their owner.  Please claim all found items within 30 days!
